That's awesome. I don't seem to be able to keep a car more than 5 years. My 2009 Kia Rio died in 2015 (a year and a month ago, R.I.P.). Unfortunately, I was driving it when it overheated and died. Despite being a relatively young car, I used to have to drive over 200 miles a day and it had about 160k miles on it.
Also calamitous, I had bought a house much, much closer to work the year before and also put $1000 worth of work into the Rio when it died. I didn't have the money to fix it. However, due to the house purchase, I can bus and/or bike to work easily (I'm 3.5 miles away, a mile of that through a park). Also, my mother, who has been retired for awhile, moved in with me after my stepfather died and she has a car (a 2007 Corolla) that I can use when I need, which isn't often. I like biking to work, more or less, and Mom does most of the grocery shopping, anyway.
