The husband of an acquaintance is a senior IT guy at an Internet firm. The firm was acquired a while back, and his bosses were suddenly rich and started buying toys. It became a "My big screen TV is bigger than yours!" competition.

One of them discovered the hard way he couldn't win. The intended location for his newest and biggest model was an attic rec room, but the model he bought would not fit up the stairs, and he had to content himself with a smaller model that could actually be maneuvered into the space.
