I'm sorry for your lost. I realize I have not kept this thread up to date. I've been posting in the lounge. Maisy is still with us. My only ride to the vet had an emergency so Maisy is thankful for that. I've connected with some great cat owners going through the same disease. They convinced me not to give up. The vet is wrong it's not expensive as we was told. All we need is to get her full blood work up so we can get a insulin prescription and this one insulin is really affordable and I can do all curve testing at home with an inexpensive glucose meter and spreadsheet.

Diet is the biggy. The vomiting has stopped once I did extensive research on cat foods and feline diabetes. Our biggest challenge right now is getting her sugar down. High sugar causes the digestive problems. Carbohydrates are the enemy. First thing payday. I'm throwing out her corn flakes (Iam's) I had no idea about what I was feeding her all these years. I will be getting a grain free dry food with no bad fillers and slowly start moving to completely to canned food. I started feeding her canned food and seen her energy levels come up. She will not eat the solids from wet food only sauces so I'm gonna puree it. I've got a stick blender coming tomorrow.

Maisy is too much of a fighter to quit. I truly believe she will let me know when she doesn't want to anymore.

Our first goal is to get her litter box habits back to normal. I'm convinced it's the Iam's Sensitive Stomach causing it. She's never had any problems till this food. She's had to learn how to deal with it quickly but she's doing alot better she is getting up and down fine and she is jumping on things something she hasn't done in years. She normally pulls herself up. This is a big sign to me we are on the right path.

I was so glad to read the good news about your mom, and now about your kitty-cat. In effect, your mom's fall saved kitty's life. Blessings all around.
