There should be a sample screen saver shown at the end of a successful install.

Check through your settings and the menu contained within the settings -
(home -> menu -> settings -> menu)

Some firmware versions have a selection with the word: "sync" (an abbreviation for synchronize) contained in it.
Not all firmware versions are the same and I don't have any idea what it looks like in the Japanese GUI.

Your device info panel on the Kindle should include the "Special Offers" status.

And you didn't mention what firmware version you are running, so we can't really say what you should look for.
