My workflow is -

1. Save to disk on PC first (using Genre as my top level folder, then within each Genre folder there's a sub-folder for each author which contains the book file - .mobi - and .jpg cover and .opf file).

2. Drag & drop Genre folders to the /documents folder on the Kindle.

One of the "quirks" I've noticed so far is that about 75% of the covers are not showing up on the Kindle, even though each book's .jpg file is copied over.
