2. Both Good Will Hunting (1997) and Syriana (2005) had Matt Damon as an actor. He was also planned for The Fighter (2010) but was later dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, and Christian Bale was taken in.

Not sure it being the common factor for all three movies - just playing a hunch.
