i havent seen the PRS 500 or 505 displays so cant compare them, but certainly compared to PRS700 the DR1000S is much much better. it is clearer, bigger and without glare. the wacom layer doesnt seem to have a negative effect on display readability.
good luck with your DR1000S. i am just waiting for the s/w update and also a good app for using it as a writing pad. then the wait would be worth it.
