By default the Polish button is not added to the Calibre's main toolbar. To get this button, go to Calibre Preferences->Toolbars and in the drop down box select the main toolbar. Scroll down the left buttons until you find the Polish Books button and then add from left to right side main toolbar.

The Polish Books button has various options. for the above task, enable the below settings with a check mark.

1. Update metadata in the book files.
This setting will update the old metadata inside the book with the new downloaded/modified metadata.

2. Update the covers in the book file.
This setting will replace the existing cover of the book with the new downloaded cover.

3. Add/Replace metadata as a "book jacket" page
This setting will insert a single or multiple pages of the metadata in a neat tabular form at the beginning of the book.

I always keep these three settings checked.[/QUOTE]

This is a very fast method for updating the metadata and covers in one or multiple epub or azw3 files.

Apply the Polish command to the Epub files and send them to the eReader.
