"The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window And Disappeared" (
http://www.jonasjonasson.com/the-boo...eared-31839684 ) is hilarious. Slapstick, with lots of implausible (to put it mildly) coincidences, both as we follow Allan Karlsson on the run from both police and criminals as a 100-year-old, and in the flashbacks of his life. ("You're that Allan Karlsson?" Mao Zedong said, astonished.") It's also a film, which was quite good, but the book is better.

And for really fluffy fun, Georgette Heyer's "The Talisman Ring", with dastardly plots, astonishing adventures, and True Love.
