Wrong.
The old universal jail break INCLUDES the update bridging code.
That is what makes the jb survive the upgrade to 5.4.5
No need to do anything else.

If by 'generic jailbreak' you mean the most recently posted one -

What does step #4 say?
Keyword: downgrade.
After step #4 you are no longer running whatever firmware version you where running, you are now running what you downgraded too.
Which in the case of the PW-2, is version: 5.4.3.2
We hide that information in the file name.
Is version 5.4.3.2 newer or older than 5.4.4.2?
It is (now) older.
So use the older jailbreak.
