If you don't have a Discover card, you might want to get one; if you have one, you might want to use it now for Amazon ebook and other purchases.
Currently, you get 5% in Discover Cashback Bonus on the amount that you spend on each purchase at Amazon. Discover/Amazon had a similar promotion about a year ago, I think that it was. This current promo lasts From July 1 through at least December of this year.
The amount that you save is actually
at least 5%. You get, from every purchase, 5% added to your Cashback Bonus balance. You can use it to pay on your monthly balance, have it deposited to your bank account, donate it to charity, or use it to pay for Amazon purchases. However, on top of that, you can actually
boost the value of the cashback bonus by buying discounted gift cards with it. For example, if you have enough balance in your Cashback account, you can get a $50 gift card for Barnes & Noble for $45 (that amounts to 10% off), just to cite one example (sorry, Amazon doesn't seem to participate in this particular program). I have seen discounts as high as 50% off on some gift cards.
If you already have a Discover account, log in to it (
http://www.discovercard.com). Then navigate to the "Rewards" webpage (
https://www.discovercard.com/cardmem...p/cbbPromotion). A "heads up": the Cashback awards may be valid only for generic Discover cards, not ones branded by a third party (Walmart, for example, has their own Discover card).
