Helpful hint for books that are difficult to convert (looking at you, DRM infested KFX): Go to your Manage Your Content and Devices on Amazon, click on the Actions button next to your book, and select Download & transfer via USB from the drop-down menu. The one caveat here is that I'm not sure if you can download if you have no Kindle device listed to download to. I always choose my Kindle Keyboard as I know by so doing I'll get an AZW formatted version. You might get the same results by trying to download a Kindle for PC format, but I don't know as I've never tried.
