I just want to point out that you cannot use a standard universal remote. At least not an IR remote since both FireTV and stick use RF remotes. Not sure exactly what technology they use, but I can control my FireTV and the stick from anywhere in the house without line of sight. Each remote has its own serial number and can only be linked to one device at a time (though more than one remote can be linked to the same FireTV or stick).

The only other way would be through a universal IR remote that is linked to the TV if the TV supports HDMI-CEC, but it won't be fully functional (e.g. no voice control).

Mentioning voice - the FireTV remotes probably won't interfere with an Echo if you don't say the wakeup word "Alexa". You can say "Alexa", but it is optional.
