I never got ADE 2.0 to work, but maybe things have changed -- I know ADE 4.5 works in WINE now.

But I haven't seen any library that rejects ADE 1.7 and accepts ADE 2.0. I know some vendors will insist on the newfangled DRM in ADE 3.0 -- which doesn't matter for library books, except that your ereader probably can't read it either.
