I picked up an Amazon Echo. I had been on the fence with whether I would use one enough to justify $180, but at $130 it seems to be a smart purchase. Much better than the assorted Rubbermaid containers which was all I could find of interest last year.

I finally found the list of 99 cent videos last night on the website, but they were down to only a few and none were worth even 1 cent. It took me several clicks and a lot of hunting on their website to find them. Not intuitive at all. I never did find that list on my Fire TV, and that is where they should have been front and center. Amazon really needs to rethink the stupid way in which they categorize and disorganize lists on the Fire TV. It makes no sense to me to place mostly the same few videos into almost every category list. If you know a specific title you can easily get to it with Alexa, but if you are just browsing it is like deja vu from one list/category to another, at least on my Fire TV.

However, even though browsing is a PITA on the Fire TV, I must say that the picture is incredibly good; much better than my DirecTV picture and way more reliable too. I have the original Fire TV Stick too, and it is a piece of junk. But the newest Fire TV with Alexa remote is really good for a set top box. Much better than the Apple TV I have that now collects dust. The remote on the Fire TV is a bit finicky at times and I have to sometimes remove the batteries and put them back in before it wakes up and starts working. But most of the time it works okay.
