The Symbol icon is fine now - i.e. when it is checked in Configure Ribbon it is not shown and when it is not checked in Configure Ribbon it is shown - same as rest
I have to ask - why is Config Ribbon 'arse about face', or to put it more formally, why is it counter-intuitive

I had hoped that config file I attached in post 524 might have helped with this issue.
The attached zip contains config and log files for A) before starting Word 2010, B) immediately after starting Word 2010 and C) immediately after going in and out of Settings.
Let me know if I can do/send anything else. I have tried uninstalling my other Addins - no luck though.
