In the GUI: Book Details section:
You can drag and drop additional formats OR a cover image

Duplicate formats will REPLACE.
There is no (metadata) verification. You can drop the WRONG book and it will be happy (you won't).

You can also do these tasks in the Metadata editor in the respective areas
