It's bad form to use information that can't be substantiated in debate. It undermines your argument. You don't agree because you assume that Amazon has sold more Kindles than it can make, but that's an assumption, not a fact. If it is true, then I still take points away from Amazon for planning their production so poorly.

And both of your conspiracy theories could be true, but a) they are more far-fetched than the scenario I (and others on these forums) have proposed and b) I haven't used either of those points in my posts to validate my opinion.

My point was that I find Amazon's reluctance to release sales information unsettling and therefore wouldn't presume to put them at the top of any sales lists. If they're doing so well and moving so many units, then I don't believe they'd be so tight-lipped about their sales trends.
