It's not a terribly useful feature in any case, any more than the similar feature in PDF readers is. Just about all it's useful for is finding floating figures or tables: for anything else, the text is very nearly too small to read, even with a magnifying glass, and the only features visible are the flow of paragraphs and figures/tables, and chapter ends -- and we already *have* an easy way of getting to the end of the chapter, with the old Page Flip.

Really, if this had arrived on a DX-sized machine which was widely used for reading textbooks, it would be generally useful. But the Kindle is much smaller than that and its textbook market is not huge, so this feature is not particularly exciting.
