I always download metadata (usually from Goodreads) to get the correct information (particularly series info). However, often the series name is overly long and since I use a plugin to merge it into the book title, it makes the book title on the device a little unwieldy.

I thought that it would be simple to correct those long series names by doing a bulk metadata edit and just change the series name. That worked however, all the series numbers were set to 1!

Does anyone know an easy way to do this leaving the series numbers intact?
