Fascinating. That would actually work nicely at job centres, for instance, where here in Germany you usually have to draw a number. The system displaying the number of the next customer served would just have to count down instead of up. Of course, long humiliating waits in ugly job centre corridors are an integral part of the system here, so they would never implement something like that...
