I don't think it's meant to be condescending, or to cast aspersions on your vision. I do very much doubt that there is such a thing as a "perfect" frontlit screen and I don't believe anyone should expect one.

If someone gets a screen they're not happy with it's natural to try to discover where their particular screen falls in the available spectrum of screens; it might affect their decision to exchange it and hope for a better one, return it and wait for the next model, or just try to get used to it.

If you're lucky enough to get a screen you're happy with (as I did with my Oasis, although not with my Voyage) then any possible flaws not visible to you or not annoying to you in whatever combination of screen and ambient light you read in I don't see why you'd care if someone else looks at your screen and sees pink elephants on it.
