Depends in what you want to do with it. If you have no need for root, there's probably no point. I don't have a Max, but have rooted my T68+ mainly in order to use adaway as an adblocker and for Linux deploy, so I can use a Linux chroot environment. Other uses may involve button remapping or other system related stuff, but again, of you're not missing anything, you probably don't need to root.
