The plug-in does a splendid job matching the look and feel of the original ePUB file (better than even calibre), unfortunately the footnotes do not transfer over.
I can't see why it's such a difficult job to implement. It is not like doing OCR and trying to figure out which number goes to what footnote. Most standard ePUB books already have the hyperlinks so just going one by one and converting them into Word footnotes should do the job.
The only slight difficulty that I could think of is determining when the footnote text ends, but even this should not be so hard to get around.
