What's the best e-reader for annotating/highlighting PDFs?

I'd like the annotations to sync to my PC (either wirelessly or over USB) or at least be viewable\editable on the PC while the reader is plugged in. I was disappointed in the Kindle Paperwhite, which didn't support viewing the annotations of personal documents on my PC (I tried some things like Clippings.io, but found it pretty janky).

Considering a Kobo Aura H20 and wondering how it fares in this regard.
