A big thank you and two metadata behevior suggestions

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to the developer of Calibre, the plugin creators and all the support people here in this forum. You all make my reading life a lot easier to handle.

I have two suggestions for Calibre, which I have not found here. I may have used the wrong search Terms, so please point me in the right direction if this is the case.

Suggestion A: Predefined possible values for custom columns

I have a custom column to store genre information in it. There are more than 30 possible genres and every book can be in more than one. I created a dummy book entry that is a member of every genre to populate the possible values for this custom column.
It would be great to be able to define default values without the need for a dummy book. It would also be great to have an option to lock down the selection of values for a custom column only to the predefined list of values, so that no manual creation in the metadata editor is possible.

Suggestion B: Search in colums not "<search string>*" but "*<search string>*"

One of the Genres in my custom custom column is "health_sport_fitness". It would be great if the metadata editor would not only propose this entry when typing "health", but also when just entering "sport" or "fit" - in other words, not a search for x*, but for *x*.

Thanks in advance,
