From experience, it will take a few seconds for new books to show up, regardless of how many new books there are.
But when there are lots of new books, a few will show up after a few seconds, and then a few seconds later some more will show up, and a few seconds later...


You should never have a situation where you wait a few minutes and still cannot even tell that you ever added books at all.
If you think that has happened, it is a sign of either serious hardware damage (busted eMMC)* or else the All/Downloaded confusion again.
