That's true and has been the case for a long time now. No improvements were ever made to the Voyage production line. It remains to be a "luck of the draw" situation with the Voyage and the Oasis.
The good news is that Amazon's return policy is so good. Just remember to fully return a defective device rather than doing an exchange. Exchanges only yield refurbished replacement devices.
