You know...I find that very hard to believe. Not disbelieving you; just...when I view my own life, that seems bizarre. My mother had gorgeous teeth as a teen. Her dentist convinced my grandmother that she needed braces, and from that point forward it was all downhill. Both her parents had their own teeth upon their own demises.

All we kids drank milk and ate calcium-rich foods like crazy. We never ate candy or dessert; no soda in the house. My spouse and I aren't crap food eaters. Again, no candy, no desserts; neither of us like soda. I don't see how I could have done better, diet-wise. And as I mentioned previously, my oral hygiene routine, per my dentists and dental hygienists, seems to be well above average. And still--crappy teeth, relative to many others. Ditto my two siblings. That's frustrating.

And British teeth (in terms of function) are among the best in the world. Due to NHS dentistry being free for children.

What we don't have is as much cosmetic dentistry as rich Americans. Poor Americans in general have much worse teeth.
I suspect that's more recently taken? The information about British dentistry and functioning teeth? Is that right?
