Compared to a tablet, it's much clunkier and slower than my phone or Tab4. It might not have all the niceties of the branded readers, but it is doing just fine for me.

This model looks sweet indeed. Thanks for the heads up. However its slightly higher price point and the awfulness with PDFs you have cited seem to be significant drawbacks. I will definitely research it into more detail.
