It took me awhile yesterday to get Marvin 3 to feel like the great app Marvin 2 was. I'm not sure why all the default settings just felt weird to me. At first I was nervous about the release, but I think now it seems to be a great release. I just paid for it because Kris has been a great developer over the years and I'm super glad that Marvin exists!

I've only used it on an iPhone 6 so far.

I think I discovered one thing that might be considered a bug.
- Headers and footers set to 'Dim' does not work with the color preset of 'Night'. Nothing is displayed (the clock setting won't do anything either). If I switch to Day mode,

Some things I miss or don't like the changes:
- pulling down on the main list to get a search box
- being able to switch to a different view of your books with 2 clicks (it now takes 3: 'your reading list', 'smart and user collections', select a list
- the front screen that shows the recent books you are reading. This is replaced by either leaving my books sorted by 'date last opened' or having the long click on 'your reading list' going to 'Recently opened' (but that has no covers)
- List info box 'Markers' has great information, but I found that information easier to read in Marvin 2 (how many words and star ratings; I don't care about how many days ago I last read a book). It didn't have words that were unnecessary like 'Added on' or 'words' and it used to be a dimmer font. I like that reading list, read, and new were icons instead of text.
- It used to be 2 clicks to turn on extra dimming in Marvin 2: click while reading, it was right there. Now you have to click into the theme to turn it on and off (3-4 clicks).
- Vertical margin size of 'Narrow' still seems like there is wasted vertical space at the bottom (one line of text).
- Page accessories. I like that there are a bunch of options to cover a lot of cases that a person might want, but it doesn't cover mind. 'Everything' has all of the information that I want to display in the footer, but for me it has too much.

Love:
- dark mode
- I'm less likely to leave the OPDS catalog when I didn't meant to
- comic reading (haven't use it yet, but will)
- I can finally sort by author last name and then by published date! Whoo!

Confused:
- Not sure why there isn't a letter scrubber on the right side to easily get to a certain letter when sorting by author or title. I was never clear why Marvin 2 didn't have it either. The scrubber on the bottom is interesting, and sort of serves the same purpose.
- Is there a way to see Published Date in the app? (Still glad I can now sort by it)
