Smile Highlight text in Calibre

Hi,

I would be very grateful for your help. Slightly new to ebook reading. Just bought a couple of books to read from Amazon. Using it on my windows Tab using Kindle App.

I like to highlight text on ebook so that next time I only need to read the highlighted matter.

I read that books purchased on Amazon can be wiped out by Amazon at any time as we do not own them and it is only a licence to read it.

So, I wanted to switch from Kindle app on my windows tab to calibre but I understand that I cannot highlight text in epub using calibre and incase I want to highlight text, I have to do some complicated stuff like edit HTML code or something in calibre.

Should I try to convert kindle book purchased by me from mobi to pdf format and then open it in adobe reader to highlight text for future reference.

Or alternately, should I convert it to PDF & copy this text to MS Word document and then highlight it?

Look forward to your valued reply.
