@mariaclaudia - FWIW this is what I do in Windows
  1. I use one of several Windows content searchers to search within a library folder. The search tools I use include -- X1, Windows 10 from File Explorer, FileLocator Pro (Agent Ransack's big brother) and the Find feature in xplorer˛ Pro (file manager).
  2. I then use the excellent Drop Search Results plugin to Mark the books in Calibre. It's excellent because it's very simple to use and it works with all the search tools I use - and some that I don't.
  3. And then I do whatever to the Marked books - e.g. use bulk metadata edit to add a tag, create a Reading List, remove the books etc.
I sometimes broaden the search scope beyond calibre libraries, to include things like emails, blog and social media posts etc.

BR
