Sorry -- I saw this and said I would respond later that day, then I forgot.

Calibre gives CC the data in "pages". As you scroll through the list, CC asks calibre for the next page when required. I suspect that when you go back to the list the paging mechanism is getting confused. You could test this by increasing the page size in calibre (Preferences / Sharing over the net / Max OPDS items per query) to something large enough to see if the problem goes away.

As for the first-letter grouping, that is done in calibre. CC has no say in the matter. As far as I know, the content server doesn't support XX-YY style grouping.
