Wow. That's an over-long book. OK, a world war is a complex thing, but even so!

And the names! The names! Arghhhhh...... Zhaspahr Clyntahn indeed. And they're all like that!

I did notice a handy list of characters at the end of the book. If I do get the next one (but it'll have to be at a very good discount) I think I will make a search/replace list for the names. I think calibre can do a search/replace from a correctly formatted file. If not, there'll be a plugin.

So why did I finish it? I'm not sure. Time invested in the series already, perhaps? A hope that the books will get past all this detail and on to some of fascinating things that must happen after the war?

Sigh. What next I wonder? I shall decide this evening.
