And while discussing soldering, I was thinking of using aluminum foil on plastic for a K3 serial connector. Here is how to solder copper wire to aluminum foil (using oil flux):

Solder before gluing the foil to plastic, then slice out strips between the traces. Voila, aluminum foil PCB.
