If you choose the soldering method, practice soldering on something else first if you have never done it. The pieces are tiny and if you solder in the wrong place, you could render your device unusable. Also the soldering iron is very hot and one touch can brand you.
Just a little advice from someone who used to work on much bigger mother boards.
Thanks for the advice, I can solder, I have done enough soldering before and I am confident with that part.
So I'm not worried about soldering, just I am not confident about things like voltages/components, and wanted to know if 'any' ttl usb cable that is 1.8v, and has rx, tx, gnd, vcc, will be ok!
Or, maybe there are different specifications of ttl that I have to worry about?
