If you leave your book open when the app is put in the background or killed, the book will be automatically re-opened when the app resumes active or restarted. Make sure you're using the latest version (1.4.1) and the system setting "
Auto-Open Last Book Read" is turned on.

I am very surprised to hear that. Many users feel that getting books from calibre to BookMaster is indeed one of its greatest strength.
