I doubt they would plan like that, but I can imagine that if Amazon had honored the mistaken price, that would be their rationale.

God forbid someone one hears that someone got something they didn't. If Amazon tried to be nice to people who happened to stumble on this mistake for the short time it was possible to get the error through the shipping process, they'd have a bunch of disgruntled people claiming they are due the same, despite the fact that no one was due anything of the kind.
