For me personally, it does seems over priced. There is no bump in internal memory, no audio for audible (another amazon company), and I hate to say this (because I truly hope this improves), but the kindle interface leaves much to be desired in reading options such as font sizes and types.
Perhaps the limitations of a smaller screen size may be the issue, but I find myself turning more to 3rd party apps on other devices for my e-reading purposes.
I do not follow the argument that they are also selling you a case, as most Amazon cases are in of themselves overpriced. There are many 3rd party options that sell for less than 10 dollars and serve my needs perfectly, both in terms of functionality such as the practicality of an origami fold to read hands free and lightness (that they are not made of animals is a plus to me).
Another thing that makes the Oasis overpriced for me is the lack of quality in the ones I have seen, as they have a more of a grayer "washed out look." Of course, I could be wrong and there could be an Oasis out there with a nice dark contrast to the fonts, but I have not held one or seen one (even in all the countless youtube reviews, including the Amazon page itself).
I'm hoping that the Voyage price comes down in time for my birthday, because I think that even the Voyage is overpriced, as it is over a year old in tech specs. That said, the loads of Oasis reviews have moved me towards wanting to purchase a Voyage to be my default e-ink reader.
