Maybe - seeing an email address in a forum post might trigger a webcrawler bot to send a link to the post to the bot's home.

Given the kindle account name and the mobileread login name are identical and the OP has a gmail account it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume his/her gmail account uses the same name - result - emails in the OPs gmail account from noreply#salessupport.The Economist.com

Who would bother with doing that. Boiler-room operators.
