Synchronising on Different Platforms

I've been reading books on my Android mobile phone and tablet but now looking to buy an Amazon ebook reader for summer outdoor use.

When I used the Kindle reader for Android a while ago, I could send my own books to my account, they would appear on all devices and the Cloud Reader and would synchronise. I find now that any such books I send to my account get delivered to phone and tablet but do not appear in my account or Cloud Reader, which I can sort of understand and can live with. Books bought from Amazon show and work on all.

My question is before I buy a Kindle device is will my own books be delivered and synchronised to it?

Thanks.

Brian
