I would strongly encourage not loading all 1000 books on your Paperwhite. While it can hold them all, operating performance will be degraded by having that many books on it. If you put them into collections, the time required to move them into a collection gets longer and longer the more books are in any individual collection.
Your Paperwhite will perform much better by keeping the number of books on it under a couple hundred.
