I'd want to make sure you are cancelling the PAID MEMBERSHIP, not the account, when you are clicking things. That might be why you got the scary sounding warning (about losing all access, and account going away). I mean, if you are clicking on a "delete this account" rather than a "cancel the paid membership". There's probably a difference.

My apologies. I canceled the account last night, and I was still able to access the one book that I had with them. I meant to make a post to that effect earlier, but forgot to.
Tubemonkey's post, and my reading and re-reading their warning carefully and reading "between the lines" of it, caused me to feel confident that it would work out okay. Someone might think that I was concerned about nothing, but I've seen enough shenanigans from some companies that it would not have surprised me if I had lost the book by canceling.
