GtrsRGr8: I don't myself have a membership at Audible, but I have an account and a library of a few items I have straight up purchased. So this is just a guess, but:

I'd want to make sure you are cancelling the PAID MEMBERSHIP, not the account, when you are clicking things. That might be why you got the scary sounding warning (about losing all access, and account going away). I mean, if you are clicking on a "delete this account" rather than a "cancel the paid membership". There's probably a difference.
