Do any of you kow a good way of doing that?
@cathlyn:

This is what I did:

  • Created a Custom Column called #original_title
  • Ran the GUI Tool "Extract Original Title/Translator to Update Custom Columns [EPUBS]" which is part of the tool box plug-in Job Spy. It is called Job Spy because its first tool was Job Spy, but it has 20 Tools, only one of which relates to jobs.
  • Created a Virtual Library with the criterion of "#original_title:true".
  • Created a View Manager View that was customized for that Virtual Library.
  • Used the GUI Tool called "Apply View Manager View Based Upon Virtual Library" to automatically switch to the proper View whenever I select that particular Virtual Library.
  • Whenever the "title" was really the "#original_title" because it was the "original language", I used Bulk Edit Metadata to copy the 'title' to '#original_title' so it would link to its translations.
The MultiColumnSearch plug-in also has an Inter-Book Search Query capability originally created to deal with "#original_title". The ToolTip for that pushbutton on the first Tab is attached below.
