The tourists here last through the foliage season. I admit they condition where I drive on a weekend, but it's a small price to pay for sunshine, long days, and the beach. That said, I could enjoy fall if I didn't dread winter so much; the specter of winter is always lurking.
I can be enjoying a drink on a waterfront deck, smelling the salt water and feeling the breeze, but not far upriver loom the salt mountains and quite probably yet another cargo ship adding to their elevation. The Starks voiced a truism.
