Nearly 7 times as much. That means that there would be the need for only one DVD instead of 6 or 7 CDs. Many audiobooks would fit on a single DVD, then.
Double-layer DVDs apparently never caught on for any application--music, audiobook, or movie, unfortunately. One double-layer DVD would hold most audiobooks.
Neither have blu-rays caught on for audiobook applications. If I'm not mistaken, they have much more capacity than even double-layer DVDs. I guess the new purple disc thingies, still more capacity.
