I think a lot of those reviews are from first time kindle owners or people coming from earlier devices where they are not as likely to notice imperfections because the Oasis screen is better than the one they have been using. I don't see many reviews from people who have upgraded from the Voyage and a few times I saw that they noted the better contrast on the Voyage, but the ergonomics of the Oasis trumped all.
I returned 2 Oases and appreciate my near perfect Voyage more than ever now. Between the scallops and the decreased contrast, I just couldn't enjoy reading on the Oasis.
