The Overdrive CEO said 'relatively soon' in his interview, which was earlier this month. What that means and how it falls in with Kobos firmware releases is anyone's guess.
I'm not going to get my hopes up for the next firmware to have the support in it. Kobo has, as I've remarked in other threads, a history of releasing a lot more firmware updates than other companies. Except maybe Adobe Flash Player which seems to need to update whenever you want to use it.
